Coastal stays & South Australian escapes

Caravan parks & camping near Adelaide

Choose an Adelaide beach base or head further out to the Hills, Fleurieu, Barossa and Murray. Start with the location, then check the site suits your van.

Illustrative South Australian coastal camping scene.

Stay near Glenelg, West Lakes or Semaphore.

For Glenelg beach days, consider a caravan base at nearby West Beach. For Semaphore and West Lakes outings, look at Semaphore Park. These are specific park locations, so check the address rather than assuming a search for “Glenelg caravan parks” means the site is within Glenelg itself.

West Lakes is a lakeside suburb close to the western beaches. Plan it as a day outing from your booked accommodation. Our Adelaide beaches and southern coast guide connects the destinations with practical caravan-trip planning.

Choosing a caravan site

  • Confirm the total length of your caravan and tow vehicle, site access and turning space.
  • Check whether the booking includes power, water and the facilities you need.
  • Ask about pet policies, accessible amenities and seasonal restrictions where relevant.
  • Book ahead for school holidays and busy coastal weekends.

Beach visits and overnight stays

A foreshore car park or beach access point is not automatically a campsite. Arrange an authorised overnight stay and check posted parking signs when exploring Glenelg, West Lakes and Semaphore.
